(Rolla, Mo.) – The Missouri S&T women’s basketball program will host its annual summer camp for players entering grades 3-10 on Monday June 8 through Thursday June 11 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The Lady Miners will also host their team shoot-out camp on Friday and Saturday June 12-13.
The Lady Miner basketball camp will be held on the Missouri S&T campus in the Student Recreation Center on the lower level of the Gale Bullman Multipurpose Building. Cost of the camp is $80 per player. There will be a $10 per child discount for enrollment of two or more children from the same immediate family. Each child would then pay $70 for the camp. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt.
Final, on-site registration will be available the first day of camp, June 8th, at 8:30 am. Registration form and camp fee must be submitted by June 8th. Additional campers will be allowed to register on June 8 as space permits providing the staff to camper ratio will not be affected in a way that diminishes the quality of the camp.
“The camp is designed to teach fundamental basketball skills to young players entering grades three through 10,” Lady Miner head coach Alan Eads said. “Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. An emphasis will be placed on the development of shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing, and defensive skills. Time will also be spent on footwork, pivots, balance, and proper positioning. We will have 8 ft. goals for younger campers.”
Campers will have the opportunity to participate in free-throw, hot shot, speed dribbling, three-on-three, and one-on-one contests. Five-on-five games will also be a part of daily activities. Prizes will be awarded for all con-test winners.
Players must provide their own shoes while basketballs will be provided for use during the camp.
The team camp over the weekend will give teams five guaranteed games including four pool play games followed by a single elimination tournament. Games will be held at the Bullman Multipurpose Building and costs $250 per team. Deadline for registration is June 5with the full fee required at the time of registration.
Divisions will be formed based on the availability of teams and formed as fairly as possible based on the information given by the coach.
