WALNUT, Calif. -- Tamara McCaskill finished in a tie for 11th place Saturday night in the women's high jump competition at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships at Mount San Antonio College.
McCaskill cleared 5-5 to end up tied for the 11th spot with a quartet of competitiors. She made her first two jumps of the night at 5-3 and 5-5, but was unable to clear the bar at 5-7.
She finished tied with UC San DIego's Linda Rainwater, Grand Valley State's Maegen Doyen, Ashland's Abby Kacsandi and Abilene Christian's Jessica Withrow.
Lincoln's Notoya Thompson took the national title in the event with a clearance of 5-9 1/4. She was one of three competitors to make the winning height, but had fewer misses in the event than the other two.
