Miner track team ranked sixth in national rankings
The Missouri S&T men's track and field team is currently ranked sixth in NCAA Division II in the latest power rankings produced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Miners, who have two individuals who have made an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in an event (Jared Anders in the pole vault and Heath Groom in the javelin), are the highest-ranked team in both the Great Lakes Valley Conference and the region in this week's power rankings. S&T is one of four teams from the GLVC on this week's list.
Angelo State is currently ranked first on the national level, followed by California-San Diego, Humboldt State, Fort Hays State and East Stroudsburg.
The Miners are followed in the rankings by Wheeling Jesuit, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, Slippery Rock and Kentucky State. The other GLVC teams in the rankings are Lewis in the 14th spot and Saint Joseph's in 16th.
