The Missouri S&T men's cross country and track and field team has signed a pair of talented runners to national letters of intent to play at the university for the 2008-09 season.
The signees for next season are as follows:
JOE SKELTON, from Potosi High School in Potosi, Mo.: Skelton was the fifth place finisher at the Missouri Class 3 cross country championships in the 5,000-meters, posting a time of 16:25 in the race held in November to help his team win the state championship. Skelton, who also took third in the cross country district race, ran on Potosi's state championship 4x800-meter relay last season.
GEORGE THOMAS, from Marshfield High School in Marshfield, Mo.: Thomas finished ninth in the 5,000-meters at the Missouri Class 3 cross country championships with a time of 16:41 in the November race. Thomas earned the berth to the state meet on an individual basis by finishing fifth at the district meet with a time of 16:17.
