The Missouri S&T men's cross country team has been selected as one of the top academic teams in NCAA Division II for the 2007 season by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Miners were one of 67 schools to earn the honor for posting a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average for the 2007 fall semester and have competed in 50 percent of the scheduled competition as well as the regional meet.

The Miners were also one of six schools from the Great Lakes Valley Conference to earn the honor from the USTFCCCA along with Drury, Indianapolis, Lewis, Northern Kentucky and Southern Illinois Edwardsville.

On an individual basis, junior Kurt Schauwecker was one of the 127 selections to the USTFCCCA all-academic team, which goes to individuals who have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours, have at least a 3.25 greade point average and finish in the top 30 percent at the regional meet.
