Missouri S&T junior forward Tamara McCaskill was named Monday as the Great Lakes Valley Conference's "Player of the Week" in women's basketball after helping lead the Lady Miners to a pair of road victories last week to keep them atop the standings in the GLVC's West Division.

McCaskill, who hails from Edwardsville, Ill., averaged 21.5 points and six rebounds a game while shooting 66.7 percent from the field in S&T's victories, a 65-56 triumph at Wisconsin-Parkside and a 67-60 win at Lewis where she scored a career-high 26 points.

In Saturday's win, she scored 19 of her 26 points in the first half to help S&T build a 10-point advantage by the intermission. McCaskill finished the game going 10-of-12 from the field with six rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots.

The Lady Miners (12-2, 6-1 GLVC), who are currently in the midst of a seven-game winning streak, will host Bellarmine Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.
