CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- Taylor Hahn shattered the school record in the pole vault Saturday as she won the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship in the event during the conference meet held at Wabash College.

Hahn, who earlier this season set the mark at 10-8, went over the bar at 11-2 1/4 on her first attempt and won the meet on that clearance. Sarah King of Lewis also cleared the same height, but it came on her second effort which allowed Hahn -- who had just one miss in the entire competition until going out at the final height -- to claim the title.

Hahn, a sophomore, ended up as the only Lady Miner competitor to win all-conference honors at Saturday's meet, but several others had scoring performances to help UMR to a sixth place finish as a team.

Wendy Moore gained a fourth place finish in the 800-meters with a time of 2:17.87, just barely off her best time of her career and under the previous facility record in the event. Kendra Lewis also took fourth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.49 seconds in the finals, which came after she ran a 7.44 in the preliminaries to qualify.

Jamie Statler took fifth in the pole vault as she cleared 10-2 1/2, while freshman Hannah Terwelp had a scoring performance in the shot put with her top mark of the year of 39-6 1/2 which she posted on her first throw of the competition to take sixth place.

Earlier in the day, she broke the school record in the weight throw with a mark of 45-1 to break her old record by more than two feet.

Hillary Griffith took eighth in the 55-meters in 7.55 seconds as did Katie Bruce in the 400-meters with a time of 1:00.27 and Sarah Zaremba in the pole vault with a season-best mark of 10-2 1/2.

The Lady Miners' 4x200-meter relay team of Lewis, Bruce, Moore and Griffith came in fourth place with a time of 1:45.94, while the 4x400-relay group of Kylee Hyzer, Jocelyn Bailey, Kierra Handley and Laura Ruf took fourth as well in 4:05.23

Southern Illinois Edwardsville won the team competition while Indianapolis came in second. UMR finished with 42 points.
