UMR senior wide receiver Brandon Landry has been selected as the Great Lakes Football Conference offensive "Player of the Week" for his role in the Miners' 35-20 win over Butler Saturday at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.

Landry caught four passes in the game for 106 yards and two touchdowns, including the score that put the Miners ahead for good. He had two catches for 70 yards in the Miners' second scoring drive, catching a 41-yard pass to put the Miners into Butler territory and wrapping up the drive with a 29-yard touchdown reception late in the first half.

In the third quarter, he had a catch that was good for a first down and then caught his second scoring pass of the afternoon at the conclusion of that possession, as he hauled in a 24-yard scoring pass from Joe Winters on a fourth-and-10 play to give UMR a 21-13 lead.

Landry is a senior from Fairfield, Calif., and currently ranks as the Miners' second-leading receiver on the season with 42 catches for 650 yards and 11 touchdowns.
