The hard luck season for the Lady Miners gained another chapter Sunday, as a late goal by Wisconsin-Parkside's Laura Eide sent the Rangers to a 1-0 win over UMR on a cool afternoon at the UMR Soccer Field.

After a scoreless first half, it appeared that the Lady Miners were going to get the potential decisive goal as they controlled play for the first 25 minutes of the second half. UMR missed two great chances when Beth Babb's long attempt hit the crossbar and Maggie Thompson's follow was stopped.

But the momentum of the game started turning in favor of the Rangers, who broke the tie when Eide redirected Brittany Kaim's corner kick past Brittany Parker with 15:16 to play in the contest.

UMR made one last push for the tying goal, but that effort was turned away and the Rangers were able to run out the clock on UMR's end of the field.

Wisconsin-Parkside (6-3-1, 5-2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference) outshot UMR 14-9 on the afternoon, but had just five shots on goal to UMR's three. Parker made four saves in a solid performance in the nets for the Lady Miners (0-10, 0-5 GLVC).

UMR will host Drury Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the UMR Soccer Field.
